20 mm or 3/4 inch Aggregate Base, Class 2, is used in roadways and is an aggregate made of a specific recipe of different sizes and quality of rock inclusive of 20 mm (3⁄4 in) to fine dust. An aggregate is normally made from newly quarried rock, or it is sometimes allowed to be made from recycled asphalt concrete.

Section 5-1.13, “Subcontracting,” of the Standard Specifications, requires that the prime contractor perform at least 30 percent of work using the contractor's own organization unless a different percentage is specified in the special provisions.

Pavement Standard Plans and Specifications are the documents that implement the standards, policies, and best practices for pavements on California highways. They contain the standard requirements for bidding, constructing, and administering Caltrans contracts.

The minimum width of a sidewalk should be 8 feet between a curb and a building when in urban and rural main street place types. For all other locations the minimum width of sidewalk should be 6 feet when contiguous to a curb or 5 feet when separated by a planting strip. Sidewalk width does not include curbs.
